NEW DELHI: The two batches of the oncology drugs shipped to the US by Fresenius Kabi, the Indian arm of German drugmaker Fresenius Kabi has been called by the company as the cross contamination has been recovered. The drug named as anastrozole tablet and is used to treat breast cancer. The tablet is sold in the US through Fresenius Kabi’s local unit APP Pharmaceuticals.
The firm informed the US drug regulator about the recall on September 1, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on its website. Fresenius Kabi is recalling 7,192 bottles, each bottle containing 30 1-mg tablets, which expires in May next year.
There are no harmful effects from patients found till date but the company is recalling the batches as precautionary measures.
