NEW DELHI: Genpact, a global leader in business process and technology management is on the verge of rolling out its strategy for smaller cities, or Tier-4 and -5 locations. It is examining 14-15 sites and expects to start BPO delivery from four or five such cities over the next two years.
Genpact's President and CEO, Mr Pramod Bhasin said, “We will start with one city in 2010 and go to 4-5 such cities from there on. These will be picked from 14-15 locations that we currently examining.”
Genpact will utilise smaller cities and towns such as Ajmer, Karnal, Gwalior, Pathankot and Madurai for transaction-based processes, supply chain, order management, finance and accounting functions (non-voice work), to serve the domestic customers.
Also, these locations offer a ready pool of professionals and plenty of local language skills.
