HALOL: General Motors India has registered 4.32% fall in sales to 8,901 units during February this year as compared to 9,303 units in the corresponing month of 2010.
Mr P Balendran, Vice-President of GM India, said, “The sales were not on the expected lines as the market continues to be sluggish. High interest rates, hike in fuel, commodity prices, growing inflation and negative market sentiments continue to put a lot of pressure on the automobile market.”
The auto maker has sold 1,328 units of small car Spark, 4,684 units of hatchback Beat, 90 units of entry-level sedan Aveo, 273 units of mid-sized sedan Optra and 537 units of luxury sedan Cruze last month.
It also sold 1,964 units of multi-purpose vehicle Tavera and 25 units of sports utility vehicle Captiva.
