NEW DELHI: Handset major Samsung is hoping that its Galaxy Note portfolio may contribute 10-15 per cent of its smartphone market share in the country by the end of this year.
Samsung India Vice President Asim Warsi said, “Samsung has about 49 per cent share in the smartphone segment in the country. Our Galaxy Note portfolio will contribute 10-15 per cent to the Samsung Smartphone market share in India.”
By December this year, Samsung is aiming to tap 60 per cent market share in the smartphone segment.
The company also launched Galaxy Note II, priced at Rs 39,900. Besides, Galaxy Note II, the company has two other devices in the Galaxy portfolio -- Galaxy Note (Rs 29,990) and Galaxy Note 800 (Rs 37,900).
The GALAXY Note II features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 8 Megapixel rear-facing, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera and is powered Android's Jelly Bean operating system.
