TALEGOAN (PUNE): The flower growers of Talegaon Dabhade and neighbouring areas has been successful in doing business worth Rs 15 crore during Valentine's Day. Talegaon and Maval region, near the industrial hub of Pimpri-Chinchwad, had conducted business worth Rs 10 crore in the global market and Rs 5 crore in the domestic market.
Rising at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of almost 30%, the Indian floriculture industry is expected to touch Rs 8,000-crore mark by 2015, said industry body ASSOCHAM.
The floriculture industry in India is expected to be almost Rs 3,700 crore, with mere 0.61% share in the international floriculture sector, which is expected to touch 0.89% by 2015, according to a study titled, 'Indian Floriculture Industry: The Way Ahead' released by ASSOCHAM.
