NEW DELHI: FICCI(Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC) have entered into a comprehensive partnership agreement.
This agreement is expected to foster cooperation in areas such as SMEs(Small and Medium Enterprises), Higher Education, Skills Development, Food Processing, Infrastructure Development, Supply Chain Management and Tourism in Scotland.
“With over 10 billion of trade between India and the UK, the country remains India’s 6th largest export market and 15th largest importer for India. With Glasgow hosting the Commonwealth Games 2014, the mutually beneficial business interactions are expected to accelerate further in the coming years.”, said Dr. Amit Mitra, secretary general, FICCI,
“We in Scotland are looking forward to re-defining our trade and economic relations with fast emerging economic power like India. Cooperation in SME sector could be the next frontier for laying the ground for technical and human resource upgradation for both of us in the coming times.” said Michael Salter, chairman, SCC.
