MUMBAI: Essar Steel has won an order for API grade plates worth $14 million from UAE's National Petroleum Construction Company. Now, Essar Steel has become the first Indian firm to get place among the top-rates plated mills of Japan and also European Union.
Essar Steel is the sixth company in the world to bag an approval for the use of the American Petroleum Institute (API) monogram on 2H, 2W and 2Y grades of steel plates, which is meant for the hydrocarbon industry. This approval is expected to benefit the company in both domestic and also foreign markets, consisting the Middle East and Europe.
Essar Steel will be supplying steel plates with width ranging from 2 m-4 m for N15 and N16 parts of this critical project.
