KOLKATA: FMCG major Emami has roped in five sports personalities as brand ambassadors for its 'Fast Relief' ointment.
The sports personalities who have been roped in are boxer Vijender Singh, badminton star Saina Nehwal, wrestler Sushil Kumar, cricketer Gautam Gambhir and boxer Mary Kom.
According to a statement from the company, “With Fast Relief, the brand is attempting to connect with the growing interest and fan following in diverse sports fields.”
In the past, the city-based company appointed celebrities from the entertainment world as its brand ambassador. Currently, Amitabh Bachchan is endorsing the 'Fast Relief' brand.
Emami Ltd CEO (Sales, Supply Chain & Human Capital) N Krishnamohan said, “It is always said India is a nation where only cricket is played. But we will say India is a nation where cricket is also played along with many others games. With five world-class sportsmen for this single brand we are celebrating the growing sporting spirit of the country.”
Emami is a prominent company engaged in pain management category with nearly 13% market share of Rs 3,000 crore category.
Besides Fast Relief, the two prominent brands in the segment consist Zandu Balm and Mentho plus balm, which got a combined turnover of Rs 387 crore last year.
