THIRUVANATHAPURAM: The electrified double line between Mavelikkara and Chengannur will be commissioned on October 22.
With the commissioning of newly-built double line, train services between Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakualam via Kottayam would be shorter by amount 30 minutes.
The people living alongside the tracks are asked to exercise extra caution while using the track premises as trains would run simultaneously on both lines, according to a railway release.
