CHENNAI: The city-based software and learning solutions provider EdServ, has announced its partnership with handset maker Nokia to provide online education content on latter's smartphones.
Under the partnership terms, Nokia will host EdServ's application, 'HumThum App' in Nokia’s Ovi apps store which will run inside all Nokia smartphones.
Following the tie-up, the entire online education content that includes tuition, academics, skill development and test prep services, will be provided on the Blackberry smartphones via the HumThum apps. Till now, the educational content was been available on EdServ's flagship education and career portal, www dot lampsglow dot com.
The association will provide the best opportunity to the aspiring students to access the top career opportunities by the way of the HumThum apps from their Nokia smartphones. The 'HumThum app' will be equipped with a PDF converter that will convert the Nokia smartphone into a mobile scanner or a photocopier.
In addition, the 'Talking Dictionary' feature of the application will provide pronunciation and the meaning of any English word. Further, the application also helps users to design, host and update their own personal or business website from their mobile phone.
The company is also mulling to expand its consumer reach in the mobile education segment and is undergoing negotiations with other mobile manufacturers for the same.
