CHENNAI: EdServ, a city-based education services company, has entered the mobile application segment by unveiling 'HumThum dot com, that can be accessed from a smartphone. The firm is eyeing to bag Rs 200-crore revenue in the upcoming three years from this venture.
The company EdServ is aiming to tap a user base of 10 million in the upcoming 18-24 months. HumThum dot com has been developed in-house by EdServ and it offers educational support services like doubt clearing, tutor search and assessments, career services and local area-based services for the students.
Mr S Giridharan, EdServ Chairman, said, “With the rapid adoption of smartphones in India, especially among the students segment, we believe we have a clear first mover advantage with the launch of this first-of-its-kind educational mobile applications whereby we have moved our entire educational content to the mobile enabling students to access our educational services. This service will be available in Samsung smartphones, but our objective is to offer this service in all mobile phones. We will also tie up with mobile operators (for offering this service).”
