NEW DELHI: Dish TV India, the country's top direct-to-home (DTH) player, has announced a price hike for its channel packs and new subscriptions from July.
Except southern region consumers based in states namely Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the company has hiked prices of its monthly packs for its existing consumers across the country.
Accordingly, most of its packs will be costlier by Rs 20. The basic pack is now priced at Rs 200, while one of its top end packs will be priced at Rs 380.
The decision of price hike follows several factors like currency fluctuation and service tax increase.
Moreover, other DTH companies are planning to increase the price of set top boxes for the new customers in order to counterbalance their margins.
