NEW DELHI: The state government is reviewing the report of a judicial committee, which proposed refund of extra fees charged by more than 60 schools during 2009 with the aim to implement sixth pay commission proposal but did not raise the wages of their staff, said Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
In 2011, a three-member committee was formed by the Delhi High Court and it has reviewed the financial records of 200 schools out of an overall 1,172 schools.
The panel is headed by former Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Anil Dev Singh. The report said that 64 schools rose fees 'unjustly' and also proposed that all of them refund it with 9% interest to the parents.
Dikshit stated that the state government would review whether there was any requirement to raise the financial aid to private schools for cost of education of the students from the economically weaker sections (EWS).
