Decision on petrol cess cut soon: Karnataka CM

BANGALORE: State Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has informed that government would soon take a decision on lowering cess on petrol after consulting the finance officials.

Gowda said, “I am keen on reducing cess on petrol, but before I could do that I have to consult my finance officials and cabinet colleagues. I will take a decision on the matter in couple of days’ time.”

He on May 31 stated that his government would try to lower the cess on petrol after the biennial elections to the state Legislative Council.
He also said that the recent hike is causing problems to the common people, who are facing rising inflation.
