GURGAON: Low-cost airline Kingfisher Airlines, which is facing pressure of more than Rs 7,000 crore of debt, owes dues of nearly Rs 280 crore to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, “Kingfisher owes Rs 279.52 crore towards landing and parking, RNFC, Licence Fee, etc, to Airport Authority of India (AAI). In case of default in payment by airlines, measures like charging of penal interest, withdrawal of credit facility are taken and the airlines are put on ‘Cash and Carry’ policy.”
He also stated that the consistent monitoring is being conducted by the AAI with the aim to ensure that airlines pay their dues on time.
