NEW DELHI: Consumer goods player Dabur India Ltd has decided to expand the reach of its 'NewU' retail chain via an online portal with the aim to meet the demands besides starting more outlets across India.
The firm's arm, H&B Stores Ltd that presently runs 44 'NewU' outlets with most of them in the NCR region and Bangalore, is mulling to start 30-new outlets in the upcoming twelve months.
H&B stores Chief Operating Officer Parikshit Sharma said, “We are ready with an online platform for NewU and it is in testing phase at the moment. In June, we will launch the e-portal.”
Last year, Dabur had unveiled a dedicated online shopping portal for beauty products range, that mainly sells the 'Uveda' range of skincare products.
In the physical retail sector, the firm is mulling to start 30-new outlets in the upcoming one year to sell multi-brand products such as cosmetics, fragrances, herbal care, beauty implements and accessories, gifts, confectionery and toiletries.
Sharma also said, “The emphasis is on profitability. This is the year of consolidation and we are targeting operational profitability for the retail venture in the next one year.”
