UP Chief Minister accuses opposition of provoking farmers

LUCKNOW: The Chief Minster of Uttar Pradesh Ms Mayawati has accused opposition parties of provoking the farmers of Bhatta Parsaul.

UP Cabinet Secretary Mr Shashank Shekhar Singh, said, “There was total peace in Bhatta Parsaul. But the opposition parties are trying to spark a law and order problem by provoking the farmers of the area.”

The Chief Minister has launched counter offensive statement that the farmers' agitation of Bhatta Parsaul was raised by the opposition parties and also they have disturbed the law and order by provoking the farmers.

Last night, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police in the charge of provoking farmers. He joined Bhatta Parsaul farmers who were agitating for higher compensation from the Mayawati government for their acquired land.
