Centre to consider proposals from 6-SEZ developers today

NEW DELHI: Centre has decided to consider recommendations from six SEZ developers, consisting Parsvnath Group, with the aim to shelve their projects. There have been numerous requests for additional time to develop special economic zones (SEZs) due to the difficult business atmosphere.

Nearly 45-SEZ developers, consisting of Raheja SEZ and Navi Mumbai SEZ, have demanded for more time for the execution of the projects. Toady, these applications will coming before the inter-ministerial Board of Approval (BoA) meeting.

Moreover, Parsvnath Group arm Parsvnath SEZ Ltd has decided to surrender six SEZs in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. These SEZs had bagged in-principle approval from the government.

The other developers that are keen to exit from the SEZ projects consist of Juventus Builders and Developers, Oval Developers, Airmid Developers and NG Realty.
