Casual workers of Hindustan Paper Corporation resume work

JAGIROAD (ASSAM): The casual workers of Hindustan Paper Corporation paper mill, those struck work, here restarted work today after reaching a pact with the authority of public sector mill.
 
The casual workers inked an agreement with the paper mill’s management who decided to pay interim relief to more than 1,700 workers in accordance to the revised remuneration as declared by the Central Labour Department.
 
Moreover, the workers joined work after their indefinite dharna and a sit-in demonstration, which kicked off from Oct 4, hitting normal manufacturing works of the paper mill situated in central Assam’s Morigaon district.
 
Furthermore, the workers want revised remuneration as declared by the Central Labour Department along with the implementation of Gauhati High Court order issued to HPC three months back for paying the revised remuneration to causal workers.
