BMW appoints Philipp von Sahr as President of Indian operations

MUMBAI: German luxury car-maker BMW has announced the appointment of Philipp von Sahr as the new president of India operations.

Sahr is replacing Andreas Schaaf as he is assuming new executive position at the Group's headquarters in Munich.

At present, Sahr is the President of BMW Group Belgium-Luxemburg and his appointment will be effective from October 1.

Schaaf, the incumbent, has maintained company's number one position in the Indian luxury car market during his tenure.

Before joining BMW Group Belgium-Luxemburg, Sahr was the Group's head of sales in Germany.
