Bill Gates to meet Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav tomorrow to discuss health sector

LUCKNOW: Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft, is scheduled to meet state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav tomorrow to deliberate on the condition of health sector in the state.

Gates is expected to throw light on series of healthcare programmes that the Bill and Melinda Foundation may take up in Uttar Pradesh.

Moreover, during last week, a team from Gate's office has already met with the senior officials in the state and also carried out ground work for the Gates-Akhilesh meeting.

Gates is expected to unveil a five-point programme that his foundation is mulling to introduce in the state to strengthen the healthcare in different sectors such as neo-natal care, maternity, nutrition, family planning and child health.

Gates is keen to take up various drives such as polio eradication and other vaccinations, which are facing poor condition in the state.
