BANGALORE: Bill Gates, Founder and Chairman of software major Microsoft Corporation, will be in the city today to meet Indian industrialists and also propose ways to offer help via philanthropy. The event will witness the participation of other top people from India Inc such as Azim Premji, Ratan Tata.
In 2008, Bill Gates moved out of the executive position and also donated huge sums of money for his global health and education work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
In Bangalore, Gates will share his thoughts on philanthropy with other industry faces such as Infosys Chairman Emeritus Narayana Murthy, Tata Group Vice Chairman (and Chairman designate) Cyrus Mistry, Biocon Chairman and Managing Director Kiran Mazumdar Shaw.
The meet will aim to create a framework to establish a foundation in India under which many Indian firms will jointly work for the improving the standard of living.
