BHUBANESWAR: The health department has okayed Bhubaneswar Development Authority's (BDA) Rs 5-crore plan with the aim to renovate the Capital Hospital.
Dr Sudarshan Das, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Capital Hospital, said, “The health department has given its go ahead. We hope work will start soon.”
BDA gave its recommendation in February 2011. AS per the proposal, in the frontal vacant space inside the hospital a central park will be developed and also divided into three green patches. Presently, the hospital staff and visitors to the hospital utilise the vacant area for parking vehicles.
Moreover, BDA would be developing ultramodern toilets in medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology and also children's ward. The toilets are few in number and are not in a position to control patient load.
The 547-bed hospital registers footfall of nearly 800 patients per day.
