DEHRADUN: The annual plan for the state has been decided at Rs 8,200 crore. The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting between Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Vijay Bahuguna.
The Planning Commission is completely aware of the infrastructure deficit seen in Uttarakhand along with the issue of solving the cost of infrastructure development. It is time for the state to strengthen private sector participation for development of infrastructure sector. It is believed that strengthened infrastructure would be helpful for the state in capturing the potential sectors such as tourism.
Moreover, the Gross State Domestic Product at Constant Prices (2004-05) of Uttarakhand has risen from Rs 24786 crore to Rs 55606 crore in 2004-05 to 2011-12. The Per Capita Income of Uttarakhand has jumped by 93.44% from Rs 24726 to Rs 47831 during 2004-05 to 2011-12.
