GANDHINAGAR: The annual plan size for FY13 of Gujarat has been decided at Rs 51,000 crore. The annual plan for Gujarat was finalised yesterday at a meeting between Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission and Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Ahluwalia said that Gujarat has been posting strong growth, although attention is required to attain more sustainable growth in agriculture and also for reviewing the problems of malnutrition. Gujarat should strengthen public private partnership (PPP) in infrastructure development since Central government aims at 50% investment from private sector.

Planning Commission also appreciated the plan performance of the state. Gujarat was facing crisis of health human resources as it failed to achieve the Health Goals set for the 11th Five Year Plan

Agriculture and Allied sector’s contribution to the GSDP has plunged from 16.1% during 2004-05 to 12.7% in 2010-11.
