Al Foah India plans dates business expansion in Andhra Pradesh

VIJAYAWADA: The Indian subsidiary of Al Foah of United Arab Emirates, Al Foah India, is considering to expand its dates business in Andhra Pradesh and in the same move the company will open sales outlets to sell exclusively date-based products in the Andhra market.

The company is planning to open date parlours to market date shake, date juices, energy bars date cakes and date ice creams and other date based products.

The company sees Andhra market as the biggest market of Al Foah products with 500 tons date crown. Presently, Al Foah had 25,000 stores spread across 35 cities across the country and is aiming Rs 200 crore business during the next two years.

Although, the global date industry was of 6 million tonnes, the business was limited to 7,50,000 tonnes, out of which India imports in excess of 2,50,000 tonnes.
