KOCHI: State Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is scheduled to inaugurate the seventh edition of the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) here September 27. Over 500 delegates from 48 nations, consisting UK, Germany, France and Malaysia, are likely to attend this four-day event, which is slated to end on September 30.
Tourism Minister AP Anil Kumar has said that more than 1,700 Indian delegates have registered for this event. Out of the overall Rs 10 crore outlay, the state government has decided to contribute Rs 1 crore for this show.
Union Minister KV Thomas, Industries Minister PK Kunhalikkutty, Finance Minister K M Mani, Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, KTM society president Riaz Ahmed, Tourism Secretary Suman Billa and director Rani George are also slated to attend the inaugural function.
Kumar, who will preside over the function, said, “There is an increased flow of domestic and foreign tourists to the state. A 21-member delegation from Ukraine is expected to attend the travel mart. Following the tourism road show, there is good response from the East European countries.”
The meet will be having sessions focussing on tourism, technological advancements. This event is expected to be attended by 2,000 buyers and 370 sellers.
