5th edition of Goa Sunburn Festival 2011 kicks off today at Candolim Beach, Goa

PANAJI: The fifth edition of the electronic music festival 'Goa Sunburn Festival 2011' kicks off today at Candolim beach near here and is scheduled to run till December 29.

The Sunburn festival marks the amalgamated celebration of music, entertainment, food and shopping. The commencement of three-day electronic dance music festival was welcomed by several thousand people today.

The organisers of the event are expecting to witness more than 20,000 enthusiasts every day at the event which is considered as Asia's most-awaited electronic music festival.

Initially, the festival was into many controversy after the objection raised by the Goa Home on the organisers' move to sell tickets much before deriving mandatory permissions.

However, the organisers Percept Limited, have later secured all the necessary clearances from the government authorities.
