SRINAGAR: In ten blocks of Jammu and Kashmir, the voter turnout has been recorded 70% in the Panchayat elections. Reports suggest that Militancy-affected Zainageer in Baramulla district has posted 28.8% voter turnout.
Pulwama is facing militancy problem and has posted 52% voting. Earlier in the past, militants have given a call for boycotting the Panchayat polls. Qazigund in Anantnag district has posted 82% polling and Bandipora 71%.
In Jammu division, the voter turnout in all six blocks was significantly high, while Bhalwal has posted 86% voting and Marmat 84.43%. Surankote have posted 82% polling, Bafliaz 81%, Drabshalla 76% and Ramsoo 74.22%.
