BANGALORE: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited's (BHEL) electronics division has started two grid-connected solar power plants of 2 MW each at Katol near Nagpur for Sepset Constructions Ltd. and Citra Real Estate Ltd. These projects have been commissioned under rooftop photovoltaic and Small Solar Power Generation Programme (RPSSGP) of IREDA under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).
Each of these plants have been daily exporting 9,000 -10,000 units of solar energy to 11kV grid of Maharashtra State Electricity Development Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) at Katol, said BHEL.
Commissioning of the two-Solar Power Plants is based on the EPC contract bagged by BHEL from the customers for establishing grid-connected solar power plants. BHEL is presently in the process of establishing another power plant near Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. It is based on an order from Priapus Infrastructure Ltd.
The electronics division of BHEL has been currently executing numerous Mw rating contracts for establishing solar power plants for KPCL, Lakshadweep Administration, Indian Oil Corporation.
