Radars to check infiltration |

Two radars have been installed along India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya to stop cross-border insurgency and infiltration, Border Security Force authorities said in Shillong on Dec. 21.
Battle Field Surveillance Radars (BFSR), a portable device, is expected to solve the problem that BSF personnel face in communicating between border
observation posts (BOPs) and sector headquarters. “Hopefully, these problems could be overcome with the introduction of these surveillance radars,” said BSF IG (Communication) Virendra Singh.
As part of BSF’s attempt to improve communication between the forces, securitymen have been given mobile sets, he said. Singh said the forces
will soon get Laurus, an artillery gun with a 15 km range.
