North East:Brahmaputra dam will leave Assam dry

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has said that if China actually builds a dam across the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra river, it would lead to drying up of the water in the north eastern region’s lifeline. Speaking in Guwahati on Oct. 16, he said that the state government will prepare acontingency plan on measures to be taken to face any situation if the river is diverted.
