Nepal elections : Maoists fail to get absolute majority in Constituent Assembly

Despite its resounding victory under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system, the Communist Party of Nepal[Maoist] has failed to achieve an absolute majority in the 601-member Constituent Assembly elections to which were held on April 10. As the vote counts under both the first-past-the-post and proportional representation (PR) systems are almost over, the Maoists have become just the largest party in the Assembly.
