Meghalaya rejects reform proposal

The Meghalaya government has rejected the Administrative Reforms Commission’s proposal to do away with the three auto¬nomous district councils in the state. Reacting to the commission’s recommendation, District Coun¬cil Affairs Minister Paul Lyngdoh told newspersons on April 23 that the proposals were unacceptable. “We will not accept this.
