Meghalaya : Demand for Greater Garoland - ANVC talks yet to begin |
 |
The Meghalaya government today said dialogue with the Achik National Volunteers Council (ANVC) on its ‘greater Garoland’ demand was yet to begin and the ceasefire period was still continuing.
Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge of the home department, Mukul Sangma, when asked by reporters here to comment on the ANVC’s reported move to join politics, said none was against it but the outfit members should join the national mainstream first.
Sangma said the ANVC, along with another militant outfit, the HNLC, was still a banned organisation and the ceasefire was agreed upon only for holding negotiations.
