Islamabad defers Sarabjit hanging by 21 days |

In a major breather for Sarabjit Singh, the Indian prisoner on the death row in Pakistan, Islamabad has further deferred his hanging by another 21 days. Sarabjit was scheduled to be hanged on May 1, after President Pervez Musharraf had earlier deferred his hanging – initially scheduled for April 1. The reason given for the decision on April 28 to further delay the execution was that his case needed to be reviewed by the newly elected Government of Pakistan.
