India-Bangladesh pact on passenger train

A passenger train linking India and Bangladesh is all set to hit the tracks on the Bengali New Year Day on April 14 after a gap of 43 years. The train was suspended in 1965 during the war between India and Pakistan when Bangladesh was the eastern wing of Pakistan. Officials of the two countries signed an agreement in Dhaka on April 10 clearing the way for commissioning the passenger train service between Dhaka and Kolkata.
