Congress continues to face the heat on inflation |

With the rate of inflation rising to a three and a half year peak of 7.57 per cent, the UPA Government continues to face heat from both the Left parties, whose support keeps it in power, and the Opposition BJP on its failure to check prices. Finance Minister P. Chidambaram is, however, hopeful that inflation will be tamed and food prices will come down. He has taken heart at the better than expected wheat procurement by government agencies this year.
