NEW DELHI: The Direct Tax Code (DTC) proposes to impose wealth tax at the rate of 1 per cent. The bill suggests to raise the exemption limit to Rs 1 crore from Rs 15 lakh at present, a move that will help a lot of taxpayers avoid the levy.
